Valentine’s Day Cottage Touches
We don’t do much around the cottage for Valentine’s Day, but I spent the weekend throwing together a few festive touches for our family.
Sun Room
In the sun room, I pulled out a vintage oil painting and used it as the focus of a sweet little vignette. I added my wedding vintage handkerchief bunting as well as a few pink pieces of depression glass, a sweet Valentine’s Day postcard and some vintage gold silverware that I snagged from the thrift shop two weeks ago.
Family Room
In the family room, I tossed in a few vintage Valentine’s Day handkerchiefs and cookie cutters to a basket of vintage green and cream thread spools. I anchored it all on top of a green vintage paper cutter with some sweet floral tins, another vintage Valentine’s Day card, and a floral candle. It’s the sweetest little spot.
About three weeks ago, I found a pair of vintage floral needlepoint pillows at a yard sale. They are the cutest. After cleaning them up with a Tide antibacterial spray, I thought they’d make the cutest addition to our couch.
Kitchen
Our kitchen table stays pretty busy, so I wanted to put out a few touches that could easily be moved around at meal time, homework time, craft time, etc. A sweet ironstone floral printed plate topped with backyard camellias, another vintage Valentine’s Day card, and a candle were perfect.
Did you see my post last week about our Valentine’s Day mantel? My camellias are still going strong!
However you celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful Valentine’s Day!
