Natural Neutral Baby Shower

Natural Neutral Baby Shower

It was an honor to throw a baby shower for my sister-in-law’s sweet boy, Brady. Because this was her third child and she wanted a simple affair, I wanted the decor to match that. I decided to throw a shower anchored by lots of creamy whites and fresh greenery. A natural neutral baby shower, if you will. Not wanting to overdo the blue, I kept hints of blue to a minimum.

Baby Shower Table

I used my Cricut to cut out the letters of his name to hang above the food table and laminated them as a keepsake.

Because it was a brunch, I made a blueberry French toast casserole, egg hashbrown muffins, biscuits and gravy, and provided grapefruit. I had recently started collecting vintage ironstone, so I used some of those pieces for the table.

Baby Shower Mimosa Bar

In throwing the neutral baby shower, I spent a lot of time gathering things in shades of white. I used my old iron washstand as the scene for a mimosa bar. Using fresh orange, strawberry kiwi, or grapefruit juices, guests were invited to create custom mimosas in sweet mason jars. To toss in a bit of blue, I found some sweet blue paper straws for the glasses.

For guests who didn’t want to drink mimosas, I provided a coffee bar and fresh condiments.

Baby Shower Signage

I quickly threw together some signage for the mimosa bar and to introduce the party favors. I wanted to use succulents as party favors because they seemed to appropriately fit my neutral baby shower vision, and I loved the idea of giving guests something they could watch grow, like a baby.

Baby Shower Succulents

Being that I live in a very small town, coming across fresh greenery and bulk floral stems was so hard. I made the decision to order assorted greenery and hydrangeas from Sam’s Club of all places. They didn’t disappoint. The florals and greenery were delivered fresh, and they smelled amazing. Honestly, had I known this was an option for my wedding, I wouldn’t have resorted to faux florals.

I gathered the florals into several different glass vases as well as a few vintage floral arrangement galvanized containers.

I crafted a greenery arch to hang over the food table, which was one of my favorite touches. It was a labor of love. Emphasis on labor.

The greenery looked so sharp contrasted with the neutral color scheme.

Baby Shower Greenery

I loved having the opportunity to shower my sister-in-law’s guests with hospitality. Between the beauty of the natural aesthetic, good food and delightful conversation, it was so much fun to design this day.
