My Four Favorite Vintage Fall Finds

I’ve mentioned that fall is my favorite holiday, right? And the vintage fall finds have been plentiful in these months leading up to my favorite season

I spend all year sort of attracting fall-feeling goodies because they just look so cozy. From plaids to moody, earthy tones, here are a few of my favorite secondhand finds that I have found within the past few months and have used in my fall decorating this season.

1. Vintage Stanley Drink Dispenser

I snagged this guy at a yard sale back in July on the way for some Saturday morning donuts. In fact, donuts are how most of my great yard sale Saturdays start.

The gentleman selling this had a huge collection of vintage thermoses. I asked him how much he would take for the entire collection, but the price was higher than I wanted to pay. I took out the pieces I didn’t love and ended up walking away with the drink dispenser, several thermoses, and the woven carrying basket with additional thermoses.

This collection formed the entire basis of my early fall mantel.

2. Antique Hand-Carved Duck Decoy

If it’s dramatically possible, I might have shed a tear when I picked this beauty up off the table at an estate sale this weekend.

Living in an area that is very hunting-obsessed, I’m always on the hunt for antique decoys but have never come across one before. But this guy, with his one missing eye, chippy paint, and loose head (I almost broke him when I picked him up by the head when I first grabbed him) has stolen my heart.

I have him situated in a hunting-themed vignette that I plan to share soon.

3. Fall-inspired Oil Painting

I’m such a sucker for seasonal vintage art. I stopped by the estate sale where I found this piece with about five minutes left on the first day. Because it was still there, I thought there might be a pretty good chance that it would be available at the beginning of the next day, which was 50% off day.

And that price sounded a lot more reasonable.

Honestly, I don’t really know how this piece wasn’t snatched right up. The painting itself is beautiful, but its frame is also stunning. But that just means it was meant to come up with me and find a seasonal spot in my little library.

4. Block Print Afghan

My boys staged a coup when it came to using my vintage wool blankets. My youngest says they are “too scratchy.”

So when I spotted this guy on the rack at one of my regular thrift stores, I didn’t really have to think twice. I thought it would not only be a much more comfortable blanket for them, but it’s just a beautiful blanket.

I mean, just look at those colors.

It’s been just the sweetest little addition to our family room.

I’m just loving the the sweet little homey touches these have added to our little cottage. Which of the four vintage fall finds is your favorite?
