Introducing the Southern Azalea Mercantile
We’ve been dropping hints for the last month, and we’re finally ready to let the handmade and vintage treasures out of the bag: We’re opening a little pop-up shop!
The Southern Azalea Mercantile will be open for business in-person on Saturday, October 14 at the Crystal River Scarecrow Fest. We’ll be soft launching some items in an online pop-up shop the weekend before on Sunday, October 8 at 7 p.m. EST, so if you’re not a local follower, there will be the chance for you to snag some pretties as well!
We’ll be selling our handmade bunting crafted from repurposed vintage linens as well as seasonally curated vintage home goods inspired by our life in the cottage.
This is a part of a long-term dream of mine to eventually open a brick and mortar store to share all of the warmth and coziness of home with the rest of the world. But for now, this move feels like a good one.
If you’re a long-time follower, this isn’t the first time we’ve sold our pretties. But it’s certainly our most extensive collection. We’re looking to continue to host these pop-ups regularly through the holiday season and eyeing another local-ish market for the beginning of November, so stay tuned for more information.
The collection we plan to share with you all is a part of months of work behind the scenes to share the very best of our style. Each piece we’ve picked we honestly wish we could keep for ourselves.
And the bunting is a true labor of love. I’ve sourced handmade linens that were looking to find new life in another form. From cutter quilts, vintage wool blankets, handkerchiefs, and hand-stitched table cloths, our handmade collection features just the right amount of nostalgia for the holiday season.
We can’t wait to share our hard work with you all. Again, our online collection will go live at 7 p.m. EST on October 7. This collection will be a little bit smaller to ensure we have enough product for our in-person market one week later. So be sure to set your timers because these one-of-a-kind pieces won’t last long. And once they’re gone, they’re gone.
If you’re local, we really hope you stop by our set-up at the Crystal River Scarecrow Fest. Be sure to tell us if you’re a follower of our blog!
I am a follower and I’m so proud of you both.
Congratulations. I wish I knew how to sew but I do love my vintage things.
Thank you and once again congratulations.
