In Search of Fall Pillows

I could get lost for hours in the throw pillows aisle at any home decor store. The patterns. The textures. The idea of “instant” change to a space.

But we don’t have the storage space for new pillows whenever the winds of change blow over me. And those winds are pretty frequent.

Pillow covers are the single greatest way to change up a room. They’re easy to store, and they’re incredibly budget friendly.

I changed out the pillow covers this week in our family room and our formal living room using pillow covers I found on Amazon. But not before I ditched a set of pillows from the love seats … they only ended up on the floor, anyway.

For the family room, I grabbed four 20-inch sweet green linen covers for our main pillows. In the formal living room, I grabbed two 20-inch plaid covers to go on the chairs that flank our fireplace (well, one chair that flanks and one that is in the laundry room waiting to be covered by my husband). I already had a set of wonderfully textured rust orange pillow covers that I added to the couch in the formal living room, also.

I did break my “no more pillows” rule by purchasing a round orange one to go on the sofa as well. But it was so cute, I just couldn’t say no.

It’s beginning to look a little more like fall over here in the cottage! But the beautiful thing about these pillow covers is that they can all fit neatly into the linen wardrobe in a few months when it’s time to transition to Christmas.
