Halloween at the Cottage
The Halloween decorations are up at the cottage. Halloween isn’t typically a holiday we go to great lengths to decorate for around here. I honestly only began to put out Halloween decorations when my oldest showed interest.
Since then, we’ve had a Harry Potter mantel, a Hocus Pocus-inspired mantel, and a few Cricut-crafted bats and hand-created spiders hanging around the house.
I try not to add too many throw pillows to the mix for the sake of storage, but my “Boo y’all” pillow was just too cute to pass up.
I also really love festive salt and pepper shakers, especially vintage ones. Halloween salt and pepper shakers are sort of hard to come by, but I snagged these cuties last year from eBay. Made in Korea (not specified North or South, so I’ll have to research what this means in terms of aging), they needed a front and center position on my table.
I also love vintage paper ephemera. Last year, I snagged some vintage treat bags off Etsy and love using them to make a little bunting.
When my mom moved, I snagged this cute little vintage ceramic witch plant holder from her give away pile. I didn’t put a plant in her because I haven’t had much of an indoor plant green thumb as of late. But I think she’s a cutie all on her own.
That’s it for our Halloween decorations at the cottage. Simple and sweet. I’m already itching to break out my turkeys for Thanksgiving. All in good time.
