Bidding Fall a Fond Farewell

We’re officially decking the halls today in the cottage, but I’m finding myself feeling a little sad to pack away fall. There’s something so anticipatory in the air in the fall. The falling leaves pointing us toward what’s to come. That first cool morning or that first evening gathered around the fire pit. Pulling out those baggy sweaters from storage. The coffee tastes a bit sweeter. The desserts seem more rich. It’s my favorite time of the year.

One of the things I’m saddest to pack away are these vintage fall-themed paint by numbers paintings. I ordered these a few weeks ago from a new-to-me Etsy shop called Our Love of Art and More. While they weren’t sold as a set, when I saw both listed, I knew I needed to have both of them for this wall.

Most of the ones I own have been found for very cheap, but these were more than what I had previously spent. They came framed and were worth every penny. I love the vibrancy of the fall colors. The scenes even inspired me to get back out and start running again with the promise of cooler temperatures and more scenic routes.

I’ll be pulling out my winter paint by numbers paintings to replace these this afternoon as we decorate for Christmas, but I’ll be counting the days until I see these guys again.

Cheers from the cottage,

Colleen
