A Spring Sunroom Refresh
I’m convinced that the reason “spring cleaning” is a thing is because there is something deep within us that craves freshness as the temperatures begin to warm. Maybe it’s that we combat the rising heat, the increasing pollen, and the mounting rainy season with spaces that feel open, organized, and pretty.
This week, I loved on the most-used room in the house and gave her a bit of a spring refresh.
This room is right off our front door and open to our kitchen. It’s where our stuff lands. It’s where clutter collects and dog hair seems to take on a life of its own. It’s used and abused, especially in the seasons of life where our family is really on the move. With our work on the BC Condo, our house was really neglected last week, but no room more obviously so than this one.
I gave her a quick scrub and refreshed the coffee table and Hoosier top with little touches of spring: blue bottles, an old bird flashcard, a fishing motif, spring-themed books. I also finally got around to decorating my rattan shelf find from about a month ago. I’ll share more on this beauty and my plans for her soon.
A few of the small touches in the room I’ve picked up in my thrifting adventures within the last month, but it otherwise is all stuff I keep in my little decor locker in my studio and toss into the cottage to mix it up when needed. I sure love a “free” refresh!
This room feels so ready to welcome our family back home after busy days and handle whatever we throw at it. Now, let’s see how long we can keep it clean.
