12 Days of Creating: Day 11

On the eleventh day of the 12 Days of Creating, I lovingly gave my home: a vintage bar cart.

I actually started this project on Christmas Eve before my challenge began, but I have fiddled with and filled it with all sorts of stuff since then, so I think it counts as a new creation!

This rolling cart is actually an old tea cart. Being that we’re not huge tea drinkers, we used this for quite awhile as our coffee bar. But we outgrew that use, and it sat in our spare bedroom collecting dust for several years.

When we converted our spare bedroom into my oldest son’s bedroom, we were also in the process of converting our dining room to a library. I knew I wanted a bar cart in that space, and in pulling the cart out of the spare bedroom, I decided to alter its use.

We filled it with some vintage goodies, including a set of old bar glasses in their original holder. We added other items acquired through the years as well as a few things from Bespoke Post, the monthly curated box company to which my husband subscribes.

Its inaugural use, we tried out the Frosted Cranberry Margaritas and Coconut White Russians from Half Baked Harvest. They were so good!

Do you have a bar cart? If so, does it get regular use, or is it something you only use with guests? I’d love to hear all about how you use yours in the comments!

Cheers from the cottage,

Colleen
